DUO Opens Service Office in Curaçao to Assist Students and Alumni

Local | By Correspondent April 2, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – The Dutch Education Executive Agency (DUO) will open a service office in Curaçao on April 14 to provide better support for students and alumni. The initiative is a one-year pilot project, aimed at ensuring that students are better prepared before beginning their studies in the Netherlands, while former students receive easier assistance in repaying their student loans.

At the new office, students and their parents can receive guidance on student financing, citizen service numbers (BSN), DigiD registration, and health insurance. Former students can also seek advice on loan repayment, reducing monthly payments, and applying for payment-free periods. Additionally, the office will assist with reapplying for DigiD accounts.

The service center will be located at The Greenhouse and the Triangle Office on Hoogstraat in Willemstad. Visitors can walk in with or without an appointment.

To further support students, DUO will host information sessions on April 14 and 15 at the World Trade Center (WTC) for prospective students and their parents. Later this year, DUO representatives will also visit schools across Curaçao to provide additional guidance.
