WILLEMSTAD - A dramatic rescue took place on Monday afternoon in Dein when a woman became trapped in her car due to a sudden rush of water following heavy rainfall, according to the Curaçao Police Force.
The powerful water flow quickly flooded the vehicle, and the woman was unable to escape as the water level rose to the top of the car door.
A police unit from Rio Canario responded swiftly and managed to rescue the woman from her precarious situation before it could escalate further.
Police-shared footage shows the water rapidly streaming past the car while the woman clung to a fence for safety.
