WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has 39 Megawatts of electricity. Yesterday the utility company Aqualectra finally opened the Dokweg 2b power station.

In total, the company has 168 megawatts of diesel units in operation. They are not all in production because wind and solar energy take precedence. Aqualectra produces a maximum of 60 megawatts per day.

Curaçao needs around 130 megawatts of electricity every day.
