WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout, welcomed a delegation of experts from Dutch industry associations, TNO, and the Curaçao working group on Floating Wind and Hydrogen. During this visit, ambitions and plans for hydrogen production based on wind energy and the possibilities for energy storage in Curaçao were discussed. Several technical and feasibility studies have been and are being conducted to support these efforts. The Governor encouraged the working group to continue its activities with a focus on developing new socio-economic opportunities and industries for Curaçao.
The working group consists of Mr. Ramon Chong, Chairman of the Curaçao Working Group, Mr. David Molenaar from NedZero (Dutch Wind Energy Association), Mr. Anne de Groot from the Dutch Association of Offshore Energy Suppliers (IRO) and Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT), Mr. Marc van der Steen from Program Management H2 Value Chain Program, Mr. Robert de Kler from the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), Ms. Kim van Es (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations), Mr. Dimitri Verhoeven (Ministry of Economic Affairs), Ms. Stella van Rijn (Curaçao General Affairs), and Mr. Edson Hato (Dutch Representative in Willemstad).

The team of experts, the Floating Wind and Hydrogen working group, and Her Excellency Governor Lucille George-Wout are committed to driving the development of hydrogen production in Curaçao.
