Demand of 12 years for shooting at police officer

WILLEMSTAD - The man who was previously sentenced to 9 years in prison for shooting at a police officer runs the risk of having to sit for 12 years on appeal.

At least that is the demand made by the public prosecutor. During a raid by the justice department in 2018, he shot at an officer of the arrest team. His lawyer says he didn't know it was a cop.

He shot out of self-defense because he thought he was being robbed.
