WILLEMSTAD - On Friday, May 12th, Minister Charles Cooper issued various permits to the company Royal Holding Company II B.V. in the framework of the development of a yacht marina in the Zakito area. The company will be able to construct a breakwater and a movable bridge in accordance with Curaçao's maritime management legislation (Landsverordening Maritiem Beheer) and construction and housing regulations (Landsverordening Bouw- en Woningverordening).

On this occasion, the interim Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature, Mr. Gilmar Pisas, also granted an exemption in accordance with the local regulations regarding reef management (Rifbeheersverordening) for the construction.
The initial phase of this project will involve an investment of 12.5 million dollars, and the total investment for the complete project is 150 million guilders.
Minister Cooper emphasizes that projects like these also provide a boost to the maritime economy in the Zakito area.
