AMSTERDAM - Recently, a delegation of officials from the Ministry of Traffic, Transportation, and Urban Planning (VVRP) of the Government of Curaçao met with the Project Leader for Global Zero Emission Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero, Mrs. Rowana Legito, along with a delegation from the Dutch Government at A.J. van Deudekom B.V. in Amsterdam. It was impressive to see how this transportation company has made its fleet nearly 90% electric, which implies electric mobility for trucks as well.
During the visit, there was an exchange of thoughts and knowledge regarding the implementation of A.J. van Deudekom B.V.'s project to make its fleet completely electric.
Curaçao, through agreements with the United Nations for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) signed in 2015 and, more recently, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Global Zero Emission Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero signed in 2022, understands that by 2030 and 2040, it will take care of its environment, where the people and the government will work together to reduce pollution in the public transportation sector.
