WILLEMSTAD - The Defense Caribbean Region will be receiving an additional shooting range in Curaçao. The sign for the 'Defense Shooting Facility Daou' was unveiled on Wednesday, as reported by the Ministry of Defense.
The idea for the additional shooting range arises from the growing demand for shooting facilities for military personnel in Curaçao. This demand has increased due to the operational pressures faced by various units requiring shooting training.

The facility includes a modern 25-meter-long pistol range and was constructed in collaboration with the Daou Foundation.
The naming of the 'Defense Shooting Facility Daou' is a tribute to Michel Daou, who made significant contributions to the sport of shooting in Curaçao. Although Daou could not be present at the ceremony, his son, Amir Daou, accepted the nameplate in the presence of family members and the Daou Foundation.
The shooting facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
