WILLEMSTAD - Two Second Chamber members for the D66 party have asked questions to Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops about the detention of undocumented migrants in Curaçao barracks.
They worry about the circumstances which according to UNHCR is against human rights. And this is a blow in the face of the Dutch Kingdom. This brings the countries in the kingdom in a bad light. This is one of the reasons why the Members of Parliament in the Netherlands are constantly asking about this issue.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Justice in Curaçao constantly promise that the situation will improve but up until now, the Dutch MPs don’t see this happening.
The D66 MPs also propose that international organizations investigate the situation in Curaçao.
