Curoil Bonaire Signs Agreement with Bopec Bankruptcy Trustee for Facility Acquisition

WILLEMSTAD, KRALENDIJK Curoil Bonaire has signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement with Bopec’s bankruptcy trustee, Mr. C. M. van Liere, marking a major milestone in the acquisition of the Bopec facilities. The final transfer is expected to take place by the end of September 2025.

Following an intensive negotiation period, the agreement was officially signed on Monday, June 2, 2025, bringing the acquisition process into its final phase. All indications suggest that the handover will be successfully completed by late September.

In September 2024, Curoil Bonaire was informed that it had been selected as the preferred bidder to begin exclusive negotiations for the purchase of Bopec's facilities. Since then, the company has conducted extensive due diligence and held discussions with both the bankruptcy trustee and the Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB) to reach an agreement on the terms of the transfer.

As part of this process, Curoil Bonaire and OLB signed a preliminary agreement on May 27, 2025, marking an important step forward. With the signing of the Sales and Purchase Agreement, the process is now well on track for a successful and timely conclusion.

Curoil Bonaire expressed great satisfaction with how the negotiations have progressed and praised the constructive cooperation of all parties involved.

The acquisition of the Bopec facilities is part of Curoil Bonaire’s broader strategy to expand internationally and further develop the energy sector in collaboration with the Public Entity of Bonaire. The goal is to ensure a stable and secure long-term fuel and energy supply, safeguard local jobs, and contribute to Bonaire’s economy.
