CURINDE Achieves ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Certification

Strengthening Responsible Oversight and Investment Appeal in Its Economic Zones and Industrial Parks

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Industrial and International Trade Development Company (CURINDE), operator of Curaçao’s Economic Zones and Industrial Parks, proudly announces that it has achieved ISO 37001 certification — the international standard for Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS). This milestone reinforces CURINDE’s firm commitment to ethical governance, transparency, and security, solidifying its position as a trusted operator within the global trade and logistics ecosystem.

ISO 37001 provides a comprehensive framework for preventing, detecting, and addressing bribery in both public and private sector operations. Its effective implementation at CURINDE is fully aligned with the company’s existing security management systems, ensuring that anti-bribery procedures are seamlessly integrated with the current safety regulations and international operational standards.

“Achieving ISO 37001 certification strengthens CURINDE’s commitment to operational excellence and advanced ethical leadership,” said Mrs. Jacqueline Jansen, General Manager of CURINDE. “It demonstrates our dedication to ethical business conduct and our willingness to contribute to international initiatives that enhance global trade security and transparency. It is worth noting that obtaining both ISO 28001 and ISO 37001 certifications was made possible through close cooperation with the Customs Department. CURINDE deeply appreciates Customs as a valuable stakeholder.”

During the certification handover ceremony, Minister Sithree van Heydoorn stated: “This achievement is a testament to CURINDE’s dedication, integrity, and continuous commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and transparency. It truly sets an example of excellence for our business community.”

Minister Charles Cooper also delivered remarks, congratulating CURINDE on this remarkable accomplishment and wishing the company continued success in the future.

Both ministers expressed gratitude to Carlos Farfan of the Asociación de Empresas Seguras (AES) for his guidance and professionalism throughout the ISO certification process.

For CURINDE, this accreditation represents an important benchmark that strengthens institutional oversight and advances its ongoing participation in the OECD’s Clean Certification Program. With this achievement, CURINDE continues its efforts to promote greater transparency within Curaçao’s Economic Zones and Industrial Parks, encourage ethical corporate practices and responsible investment, reduce legal and reputational risks, and reinforce institutional integrity and supervision.

All CURINDE employees successfully completed internal auditor training and an online anti-bribery course as part of the certification process. This ensures that CURINDE remains an attractive destination for investors seeking to establish operations within Curaçao’s secure and compliant business environment.

In addition to this achievement, CURINDE has been recertified for ISO 28001, while Cursecure — the company responsible for security within the industrial parks — has been recertified for ISO 18788.

These milestones underscore CURINDE’s strategic goal of positioning Curaçao as a competitive and ethical trade hub that adheres to international best practices and OECD standards. As an active participant in the OECD’s Draft Voluntary Guidelines in the fight against illicit trade, CURINDE remains a strong advocate for the inclusion of operators in Special Economic Zones and Industrial Parks as essential partners in strengthening the integrity of global commerce.
