Curaçao’s Olympic Shooting Federation Achieves Milestones and International Recognition

WILLEMSTAD - The Olympic Shooting Federation of Curaçao (OSFC) has announced significant achievements for 2025, including official recognition as the governing body for Olympic shooting on the island and Curaçao’s return to international competition after more than a decade.

Throughout this year, OSFC successfully organized several local competitions across multiple Olympic shooting disciplines, held at various shooting ranges on the island.

Events included air pistol competitions in the Senior Men’s and Women’s, Junior Men’s and Women’s, and Mixed Team categories, as well as air rifle contests in the Senior Men’s division.

All air pistol and air rifle events were hosted at the Asiento / Curaçao Precision Air Pistol Range in Emmastad, while small-caliber pistol disciplines such as Sport Pistol (Women) and Rapid Fire Pistol (Men) took place at the Santa Rosa Shooting Range.

Official Recognition and Regional Membership

In a major step forward, the OSFC has received official recognition from the FDOK (Federashon Deporte Olímpiko Kòrsou) as the legitimate organization representing Olympic shooting sports in Curaçao.

The federation has also been formally accepted as a member of the CTCC (Confederación de Tiro Centroamericano y del Caribe), allowing Curaçao to officially qualify for and participate in international regional competitions, including the Bolivarian Games, the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC), and the Odesur (South American Games).

“These events rank among the most prestigious on the global sports calendar, following the Olympic Games and the Pan American Games,” the OSFC stated.

All athletes who are members of associations affiliated with the OSFC are now eligible to take part in qualification rounds for these official competitions.

Curaçao Returns to the International Stage

Marking a milestone in Curaçao’s sports history, the island returned to international Olympic shooting events this year for the first time in over ten years. A delegation of seven athletes, aged between 14 and 70, represented Curaçao at a major competition in El Salvador.

During the event, Curaçao successfully qualified for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC), which will take place in Santo Domingo in July 2026.

The athlete selection process for the upcoming CAC Games will take place next year, with all OSFC-affiliated members eligible to participate. Detailed selection criteria will be published on the federation’s official website.

With these accomplishments, the OSFC says it is laying the foundation for a new era of excellence and inclusion in Curaçao’s shooting sports.

“Together, we are building the future of Olympic shooting in Curaçao — one shot at a time,” the federation declared.
