Curaçao’s Jean-Julien Rojer Advances in Rio Open Doubles

RIO DE JANEIRO – Curaçao-born tennis veteran Jean-Julien Rojer has advanced to the Round of 16 in the doubles draw at the 2026 Rio Open, securing his place in the main tournament alongside partner Gonzalo Escobar. The duo earned their spot after winning their qualifying match on Sunday, continuing a strong showing at the ATP 500 clay-court event in Brazil.

Rojer, a seasoned doubles specialist who continues to compete at the top level into his 40s, teamed up with Ecuador’s Escobar in the qualifying rounds. The pair defeated their opponents in straight sets to earn entry into the main doubles draw, where they will now face higher-ranked competition in the next round.
