Curacao's hero from Avalon Medical School fighting COVID-19 in New Jersey

WILLEMSTAD, NEW JERSEY - The COVID-19 pandemic is altering the lives of so many citizens in our global community.  With each new day, we get to hear stories of hope and inspiration from the countless men and women that are sacrificing their lives for the sake of humanity.  The COVID-19 virus has waged a war against mankind but as the courageous medical community stands together, this virus is being defeated.

With so many people working around the clock to ensure the protection of our world's population, we at Avalon University School of Medicine would like to recognize and honor our graduate, Dr. Abubaker Alfaouri, for his heroic service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Alfaouri, the Chief Officer of the Passaic Country Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Center, supervises a staff of 18 to 28 nurses/EMT volunteers on a daily basis.  Dr. Alfaouri and his team of nurses work diligently to swab, label, and accurately package every specimen they collect.  EMT's are standing by to quickly transport the patients that present with severe symptoms.

Dr. Alfaouri, we are greatly inspired by your embodiment of Avalon's mission: to produce doctors who are committed to patient safety and public health.  We here at Avalon University School of Medicine salute Dr. Abubaker Alfaouri, as well as countless others, and send a heartfelt thank you to all of you who are serving on the frontlines.  We will overcome this - because of people like you!
