WILLEMSTAD - The annual Information Week organized by the Europe Desk Curaçao has commenced, focusing this year on European Union (EU) funding opportunities for renewable energy projects. The Curaçao government announced that the event, running from Tuesday to Friday, aims to equip entrepreneurs, organizations, and innovators with the tools and knowledge to transition the island toward sustainable energy and become a regional leader in the Caribbean.
Participants will gain insights into EU funding programs, the application process, and strategies for project development. The event includes expert-led sessions detailing funding options for renewable energy, eligibility criteria, and real-world examples of successful and unsuccessful projects. Case studies will allow attendees to learn from past experiences and refine their project approaches.
“This is a pivotal moment for Curaçao’s energy transition,” the government emphasized. “With support from EU funding, the island can implement projects that not only promote sustainability but also drive economic growth and innovation.”
The Information Week also provides networking opportunities, bringing together stakeholders from Europe and the Caribbean to foster collaboration and explore joint initiatives in renewable energy development.
The event underscores Curaçao’s commitment to renewable energy as it strives to position itself as a sustainable and economically vibrant model for the region.
