Curaçao's Analytical Diagnostic Center Under Financial Review

Local | By Correspondent December 24, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The financial situation of the Analytical Diagnostic Center (ADC) is being closely examined. Finance Minister Javier Silvania (MFK), who also oversees Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN), has established a working group to improve the solvency of the national laboratory. The committee has three months to conduct an analysis and present solutions.

According to Silvania, ADC is facing a serious financial crisis, which has left the company without the means to adjust salaries. The civil servants' union, Abvo, had requested the minister's intervention to manage salary indexing through the management. However, Silvania stated that the management deemed this impossible due to the lack of funds. In response, he decided to initiate a thorough review of the company.

The working group is expected to submit an action plan in January, including a "Quick win," and complete a business analysis by February. Concrete measures to structurally improve the financial situation are anticipated to begin in March. The investigation will focus on identifying the root causes of the issues and developing sustainable solutions.

Silvania urged employees to remain patient and refrain from taking action so that the committee can carry out its work. He assured that he would stay in close contact with the working group and keep the union updated on progress. The minister emphasized that the government is committed to restoring ADC's financial health.
