CALI - Curaçao's boxers have achieved success at the AMBC Continental Boxing Championships held in Cali, Colombia.
The delegation consisted of two athletes in the junior category (15-16 years old), namely Christine Francisca in the middleweight division and Nahdir Haseth in the flyweight division. Christine won a gold medal in her category, while Nahdir earned a silver medal.
Nahdir Haseth, son of the renowned "kickboxer" and boxer Renato Haseth, competed against Alfonso Josue Angulo in the semifinals. Nahdir defeated the Colombian boxer, thus qualifying for the final.
In the final, he faced Christopher Quion from Ecuador. In a fierce battle, Quion emerged victorious. This meant that Nahdir Haseth returned home with a silver medal in his weight class.
Young Curaçaoan boxer Christine Francisca claimed the championship title in the middleweight division at the AMBC Continental Boxing Championships, after defeating Yamileth Melendez from Mexico.
