WILLEMSTAD, WASHINGTON - The US Department of Justice will transfer $30 million to Curaçao this year. Minister of Justice Shalten Hato reports this on social media.
Hato traveled to the U.S. with a delegation last week to discuss the relationship in the field of justice and the confiscated funds worth about 30 million dollars. The minister said he had a fruitful conversation with International Affairs adviser Bruce Swartz, deputy director Jason Carter and head of the International Unit Mary Butler.
Both parties have agreed to release the amount and that this will happen in 2023.
