WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao will soon have its own Imax theater. For that, two rooms are being converted into one. That is taking place now at The Movies in Punda.

A standard IMAX screen is 22 meters wide and 16 meters high, which is wider and higher than the standard cinema hall in Punda. The screen starts on the ground and there is also an image on the left and right. That is why seats are disappearing in the new combined room.

But that is not a problem according to Cor Dammers of the Movies: there are too many cinemas in Curaçao.
