Curaçao Weather Alert: Rough Seas and Sahara Dust Expected

Local | By Correspondent March 24, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – The Meteorological Department of Curaçao (Meteo) has issued a weather warning this morning for rough seas and Sahara dust, placing the island under a yellow alert. According to Meteo, strong winds will persist in the coming days, leading to choppy sea conditions, particularly in open waters.

In addition, fine dust particles from the Sahara will affect visibility across the region.

The marine warning states that sea conditions will remain "fairly rough," especially on the open sea, with wave heights ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters.

The general weather outlook until Wednesday afternoon predicts partly cloudy skies with no significant rainfall and consistently strong winds.
