WILLEMSTAD - With just over two months to go, there are still fourteen roads on the list to receive a new asphalt surface. The budget for this has been released by the Ministry of Finance, although the Ministry of Traffic, Transportation, and Urban Planning has not disclosed the exact amount. Curaçao is far from finished with these locations, and there is no more money for additional work.
First on the list is Cadushistraat, located south of Sta Rosaweg in the northern part of Montana-abou. Next in line is Kaya Sint Jacob, from Sun Valley to Kaya Merida, and the Asteroidenweg, from Promenade to the Antilliaanse Verffabriek.
The road to St. Willibrordus, from Kunuku Aqua Resort to Williwood, will be resurfaced, followed by the same road from Williwood to Daaibooi Beach, including the parking area there.
The southbound lanes of Schottegatweg West, from the Hariri roundabout to the Kraamkliniek and Biesheuvel, will also get new asphalt, as well as the area around Gartish. The part of Schottegatweg North near Beatrixlaan will receive a new top layer.
Seru Loraweg, near the Janwé church, is in poor condition, along with Gosieweg, from Mon Reposweg to Topekaweg. Both locations will have a new asphalt surface applied.
