WILLEMSTAD – Former Governor Lucille George-Wout will be honored with a commemorative artwork in recognition of her service to Curaçao.

The government announced that a special ceremony will take place on Friday, April 10, during which the artwork will be officially unveiled at the square in front of Fort Amsterdam.

According to the announcement, the artwork is intended as a tribute to George-Wout’s contributions during her tenure as governor. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and marks a formal moment of recognition following her departure from office.

A “save the date” invitation has already been distributed to various stakeholders, including members of Curaçao Parliament, asking them to reserve the date. A formal invitation with additional details is expected to follow.

The event is expected to highlight George-Wout’s role in public service and her impact on the country during her years in office.
