| By Correspondent March 6, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao has signed a cooperation agreement with the Florida Institute of Technology aimed at expanding higher education opportunities for students from the island.

The agreement is designed to provide Curaçao students with reduced tuition fees and create stronger academic cooperation between educational institutions in Curaçao and the United States.

According to government officials, the partnership will allow students to benefit from knowledge exchange programs and increased opportunities to pursue higher education and specialization in the United States.

The initiative forms part of a broader strategy by the government to strengthen international academic relations and give young people more options to study abroad. At the same time, authorities hope to encourage graduates to return to Curaçao after completing their studies and contribute to the island’s development.

The agreement was concluded with the support of Jèrôme Beeldsnijder, who helped facilitate the cooperation between Curaçao and the U.S.-based university.
