Curaçao Referees Complete FIFA/CONCACAF Training, Two Nominated for FIFA 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Federashon Futbòl Kòrsou (FFK), in collaboration with FIFA and CONCACAF, has successfully organized a four-day referee training course that concluded with two local referees being nominated as FIFA referees for 2026.

The course, held at the Corendon venue, combined both theory and practice. At the Rignaal ‘Jean’ Francisca Stadium, participants worked alongside a youth football team to immediately put their training into action. A total of 21 referees from Curaçao and one from Bonaire took part.

On the final day, a rigorous fitness test was conducted at the Ergilio Hato Stadium to evaluate the physical condition and abilities of the referees. Several participants successfully completed the test, including current FIFA referee Norberto da Silva.

Among those who stood out were Michaël Kirindongo and Ainsley Maria, both of whom have now been nominated to join the ranks of FIFA referees starting in 2026.

The FFK praised the commitment and performance of all participants, highlighting the importance of continuous development to raise the standard of officiating in Curaçao and the wider region.
