WILLEMSTAD - A delegation from the Curaçao Red Cross visited Fort Amsterdam on May 31st, where they attended a meeting of the Council of Ministers. May is the collection month for the Curaçao Red Cross, and during this time, they went around the box and also the swipe machine in Fort Amsterdam. His Excellency the Governor, who is on the other side of Fort Amsterdam, was the first citizen to make a generous contribution to the Curaçao Red Cross in the past.
The Curaçao Red Cross held various activities to raise funds in order to complete the construction of the new building, following the devastating fire that destroyed the previous building three years ago.
The Curaçao Red Cross is still in great need, and therefore continues to appeal to the local community in Curaçao, the other islands of the former Netherlands Antilles, and also our brothers and sisters in the Netherlands to donate to the Curaçao Red Cross. There are bank accounts available in most banks; however, the easiest one to use is MCB #2004 of the Curaçao Red Cross.
