WILLEMSTAD – Three staff members of the Curaçao prison have been certified to provide training for clients involved in the justice system in the context of relationship violence. This was reported by Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Kòrsou (SDKK).
The training focuses on enhancing knowledge and skills related to the method ‘Solo Kas Sigur’, which aims to combat violence within relationships.
The initiative is designed to raise inmates' awareness of their behavior and to reduce partner violence within the community. The method provides tools to de-escalate situations and improve conflict resolution skills.
“We are pleased with the result achieved, and we congratulate the staff on successfully completing the training. This step will now give clients of the SDKK access to new strategies for better managing relational tensions,” said the prison's management.
By deploying trained staff, the prison hopes to contribute to a safer and more stable social network for ex-detainees and their communities in the long run.
