Curaçao preparing to open borders for Dutch tourists

WILLEMSTAD - Dutch tourists may be able to fly to Curaçao again from 1 July. According to epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth, the island will then open its airport to travelers from a number of European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.

According to Minister Steven Martina of Economic Affairs, Curaçao initially thinks of a maximum of 10,000 travelers per month. They will have to participate in tests to see if they are infected with the coronavirus before they can travel.

Other islands

Aruba, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba also want to open-air borders under certain conditions for Dutch passengers, among other things.

All restrictions will also be lifted between the islands on 1 July.

According to Dr. Gerstenbluth, the borders can be opened for flights from the Netherlands and Western Europe if they no longer pose a danger. There are certain requirements such as PCR test before boarding the flight, travel insurance, and health statement.
