WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao police have announced preliminary results from the ongoing Kita Tur campaign, a traffic enforcement initiative that ran from December 19, 2024, to January 14, 2025. During this period, a total of 115 vehicles were seized due to irregularities in documentation.
So far, 40 vehicle owners have paid their fines and reclaimed their cars, leaving 75 vehicles still impounded. Most of the seized vehicles were found to lack valid inspection certificates.
Other violations uncovered during the campaign include failure to pay road tax, driving without a license or insurance, and, in some cases, the absence of a license plate. Two vehicles without license plates were also confiscated.
The police have emphasized that the Kita Tur campaign is ongoing and urged vehicle owners to ensure their documentation is in order to avoid fines and the risk of having their vehicles seized.
