Curaçao Police Arrest 34-Year-Old Man in Ongoing Theft Investigation

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Police arrested a 34-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon at a police station, where he had been invited to appear as part of an investigation into a long-running case of theft and embezzlement at a supermarket in the Mahaai area. 

The arrest was carried out by members of the Atrako Team, a specialized police unit. According to a statement released Wednesday evening, the crimes are believed to have occurred between January and May of this year. 

A deputy public prosecutor has ordered that the man remain in custody while the investigation continues.
