WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has been placed in Pot 4 for the upcoming draw of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, positioning the island alongside nations such as Jordan, Cape Verde, Ghana, Haiti and New Zealand. The remaining six teams in Pot 4 have yet to be confirmed.
The official draw will take place on 5 December in the United States, where the 48 participating nations will be divided into their respective groups.
Netherlands in Pot 1 — Possible Group Opponent for Curaçao
The Netherlands has been assigned to Pot 1, which includes top-ranked teams such as Spain, Argentina, France, Brazil, Portugal and Germany. This means the Dutch team will avoid those heavyweights during the group stage.
However, the draw rules do allow for the possibility that Curaçao and the Netherlands end up in the same group, creating a potential historic matchup between the Kingdom partners on football’s biggest stage.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada, marking the largest tournament in FIFA history.
