WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Parliament has set the stage for an upcoming budget discussion, slated to commence on Monday, January 22nd, spanning over five days. Despite proposals from some Members of Parliament for a postponement to allow representatives to attend the Tumba Festival with more flexibility, the parliament's president has dismissed this plea.
The budget discussion is expected to be a time-consuming affair, prompting the establishment of a detailed schedule for ministers to address queries within the parliamentary setting. The Finance Minister, Javier Silvania, is scheduled to be the first to appear on Monday at 9 am.
