Curaçao Parliament Approves Credentials of Newly Elected Members

WILLEMSTAD – On Tuesday, the Parliament of Curaçao officially approved the credentials of the newly elected members of the Staten during a public meeting. 

A total of 21 members will take office on May 11, representing various political parties, including the MFK, PNP, MAN-PIN, and PAR. 

The credentials, consisting of declarations from the candidates and documents from the Electoral Council, confirm that the candidates accept their election and meet the legal requirements. Following the approval, the newly elected members will take an oath of office before Governor Lucille George-Wout. 

At the first meeting after taking office on May 11, a new president and vice president of the Parliament will be elected. The MFK, the largest party with 13 seats, has nominated Fergino Brownbill and Ramón Yung for these positions.
