WILLEMSTAD – The nurses' union, CBV, led by Analiza Suares-Mathilda, visited Fòrti yesterday to submit two petitions. The first petition calls for a salary increase for healthcare workers, while the second requests that the current Minister of Health, Javier Silvania, be allowed to remain in office for another four years.
Silvania himself has recently expressed a desire to keep both the Health and Finance portfolios. However, Prime Minister Pisas has indicated that his new cabinet plans to appoint separate ministers for each department.
CBV has called for Silvania's continuation in office, citing his efforts in initiating various projects, fulfilling promises, and advancing ongoing initiatives such as the ambulance service and the ‘Skuchami Hugenholtz’ program. The union believes that Silvania should continue his work for another four years as Minister of Health.
In a meeting with the union, Prime Minister Pisas emphasized the need for salary adjustments in the healthcare sector, highlighting that the government aims to avoid repeating the mistakes of previous administrations.
