Curaçao Museum Week Kicks Off with Festive Opening at Museo di Tambu Shon Cola

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s annual Museum Week was officially launched on Sunday with a vibrant celebration at the Museo di Tambu Shon Cola, highlighting the island’s rich cultural heritage through music, history, and local traditions. 

The opening ceremony paid tribute to Curaçao’s deep-rooted legacy, bringing together community members to honor the traditions that shape the island’s identity. The week-long event aims to strengthen cultural awareness and social connection through the power of heritage. 

Museum Week is organized by the Association of Museums & Heritage of Curaçao and is supported by key institutions including the Curaçao Tourist Board, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport, and private sponsors such as Banco di Caribe, Coca-Cola, and Corendon. 

Aligned with the theme of International Museum Day, the initiative promotes the importance of museums as spaces for dialogue, learning, and community engagement across generations.
