WILLEMSTAD – Several members of the Curaçao government have congratulated new Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten on his appointment via social media. While each minister highlighted priorities linked to their own policy portfolios, their messages shared a common theme: the importance of constructive, respectful cooperation within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Prime Minister Gilmar ‘Pik’ Pisas emphasized the need for leadership grounded in vision, courage, and the ability to build connections. He described Jetten’s appointment as an important moment for democratic cooperation within the Kingdom and wished him wisdom and strength as he takes on his new responsibilities.

Minister of Finance, and also Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning, Charles Cooper focused on the economic dimension of the relationship. He noted that economic stability and sustainable development require clear and sometimes difficult choices, and said he looks forward to continued cooperation with the Netherlands in areas such as mobility, infrastructure, and sound public finances.

Minister of Justice and Minister of Governance, Planning and Public Service, Shalten Hato referred to Jetten’s appointment as a new chapter for the Kingdom. He pointed to opportunities for renewal, transparent leadership, and shared responsibility, while also underlining that mutual respect remains a cornerstone of successful Kingdom relations.

The congratulatory messages reflect Curaçao’s intention to maintain a constructive dialogue with the new Dutch government, with an emphasis on partnership and cooperation across a range of policy areas within the Kingdom framework.
