WILLEMSTAD - Since last weekend, the Curaçao Militia (CURMIL) has supported the police (KPC) in checking compliance with the COVID-19 measures.

CURMIL acts jointly with officers from the Curacao Police Force and establishes checkpoints at arbitrary strategic positions. Drivers and passers-by are monitored for compliance with the measures and the necessity of their presence in the public space.

The Curaçao government can always appeal to support units of the Commander of the Navy in the Caribbean through a request for assistance to the Ministry of Defense. In this way, CURMIL regularly provides support in maintaining public order and safety in Curaçao.
