WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Meteorological Service has begun the installation of a new, ultra-modern weather station at Hato International Airport. The system, set to become operational by the end of March, will provide real-time, 24-hour weather data to air traffic control, enhancing aviation safety.

The new weather station replaces the existing monitoring equipment along the runway and features advanced technology for measuring cloud height, visibility, and lightning detection. These upgrades will significantly improve safety for both air traffic and ground personnel.
This government-funded project complies with all international ICAO standards, ensuring that Curaçao remains at the forefront of aviation meteorology and operational safety.
