WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Lions Club (CLC) has expressed its appreciation for the overwhelmingly positive community response to its Bunita Bista eye-screening project for primary school children. The initiative, which helps detect vision problems at an early stage, has already made an impact among parents and teachers.
Parents are now better able to recognize warning signs and seek help for their children. What may appear to be a reluctance to read can sometimes be traced to poor near vision, which can lead to frustration and even behavioral issues during reading activities.
80 Years of Service
As the Curaçao Lions Club prepares to celebrate its 80th anniversary, the organization also welcomed Mrs. Ludmila Vicento as its newest member. She immediately joined the Bunita Bista project, actively contributing to its implementation alongside other Lions.
Vicento will also support another cornerstone initiative of the club: Fundashon Duna Mucha un Man, which provides daily school breakfasts for children in need. Around 1,400 students receive a nutritious breakfast each school day, ensuring they have the energy and focus needed to learn effectively.
Commitment to the Community
Well-acquainted with Curaçao’s community, Mrs. Vicento joins the Lions Club’s long tradition of volunteer service. Together with her fellow members, she contributes to the well-being of Dushi Curaçao through hands-on support and dedication to social projects.
The Curaçao Lions Club continues to demonstrate that with more helping hands, the community can grow stronger and better supported.
