WILLEMSTAD - The annual No Shave November campaign has officially kicked off on Curaçao, marking its seventh edition. Organized by JCI CLIC, the initiative focuses on raising awareness about prostate cancer among men and highlighting the importance of early detection.
According to JCI CLIC, several information sessions will be held in the coming weeks in collaboration with the Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds Foundation, which supports cancer patients on the island. These sessions will address the impact of prostate cancer and the need for greater awareness within the male community.
Fundraising and Sports for a Cause
As part of the campaign, JCI CLIC will also host the third annual padel tournament at Ultimate Padel. Participants can register through the Ultimate Padel app, and all proceeds will go to the Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds, helping fund cancer care and support programs across Curaçao.
Beards as a Symbol of Awareness
Through No Shave November, men are encouraged to grow their beards throughout the month as a visible symbol of solidarity and a way to spark conversations about prostate cancer and men’s health.
JCI CLIC — the local chapter of the global youth leadership organization Junior Chamber International (JCI) — emphasizes that this campaign aligns with its broader mission of social responsibility and sustainable community impact, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
By combining awareness, education, and action, JCI CLIC hopes this year’s campaign will help break stigmas, encourage preventive health checks, and bring Curaçao’s men one step closer to proactive, life-saving healthcare.
