“Meet Us at Delivery” Kickoff Promotes Digital Connection Across Schools
WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (OWCS) has officially launched its large-scale distribution of electronic devices to teaching and non-teaching staff across the island under the theme "Meet Us at Delivery to Connect on the Digital Route."
The kickoff event took place at the Marriott Beach Resort, where Minister Sithree van Heydoorn, joined by Members of Parliament, Minister of Justice Shalten Hato, and Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof, symbolically signed agreements with all eight subsidized school boards to formalize the handover of the devices. The event also featured several digital presentations on the importance and future of education digitalization.

More than 200 guests attended the ceremony, during which the Minister and Chair of the Digitalization Committee, Samira Saab, expressed gratitude to key partners—including Blue Nap, WWC, EY, Edutrainers, RAC, and IT Solutions—for their critical role in achieving this milestone.
Between June 23 and July 1, 2025, over 2,500 employees across Curaçao’s education sector will receive a laptop as part of the initiative. Staff have already been invited to collect their devices on designated dates.
Each laptop comes pre-registered with a chip and engraved with the ministry’s logo to ensure both ownership and security. This chip enables tracking in case of loss or theft and allows for remote deactivation, thereby protecting sensitive data related to students, teachers, management, and government operations.
“This rollout represents not just a technological upgrade but a significant leap toward safeguarding educational data and supporting digital transformation in our classrooms,” said Minister van Heydoorn.
The Ministry emphasized that the initiative has been a successful collaborative effort and confirmed its commitment to ongoing partnerships to further improve and modernize Curaçao’s education system.
