Curaçao Launches Digital Device Distribution for Over 2,500 Education Staff

WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS) has begun distributing digital devices to more than 2,500 education professionals working at government-subsidized schools in Curaçao. The initiative, announced in a press release, marks the start of a major push toward digital transformation in the island’s education sector.

The rollout is being carried out under the slogan “Kick-off Topa Mi na Entrega pa Konektá riba Ruta Digital” (Let’s Meet at the Start to Connect on the Digital Path), and symbolizes the government’s commitment to modernizing the tools available to educators.

Minister Sithree ‘Cey’ van Heydoorn (MFK) officially launched the initiative during a gathering at the Marriott Beach Resort, where he emphasized the importance of equipping teachers and educational staff with the tools needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

The distribution of devices will continue from June 23 to July 1, ensuring that educators across the island are better connected and supported as part of OWCS’s broader education modernization agenda.
