In keeping with the tradition observed every December 28th for well over a century, the Locos de La Vela filled the Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda avenue with a spectacular array of costumes. This visual feast showcased the vivid colors, imaginative designs, and the year-long dedication that goes into making this special day truly memorable.

Pedro Chacón, President of the Santos Inocentes Locos de La Vela Foundation, expressed high expectations for this year's celebration. Following the reopening of the border between Venezuela and the ABC islands, the presence of Mr. Hugo Clarinda, Director of the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) is seen as a significant step towards fostering cultural exchange between these neighboring nations.

Chacón stated, "The participation of international guests, including the Samba School from Sao Paulo and the Dushi Aventura group from Curaçao, alongside visitors from Yaracuy, Lara, and Miranda, underscores the importance of this tradition for the celebrants of December 28th in La Vela. Each year, they play a central role in enriching the festivities with joy and cultural heritage."
