WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Economic Development, Ruisandro Cijntje, aware of the importance of showcasing local musical talent during the week of the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival (CNSJF), is offering a phenomenal platform to showcase these talents in downtown Willemstad. The festival, which will take place from August 28-31, 2024, is highly anticipated by both visitors and locals. Given that the CNSJF event may not provide enough opportunities for local talents, Minister Cijntje is offering the people of Curaçao two days of events in the city center.
On Monday, August 26, 2024, Wilhelminaplein will be the stage for the first day of Curaçao Jazz Vibes. The combination of Isoko, Hershel Rosario and his jazz band, and Los Compadres will deliver an exceptional blend of rhythmic music, Caribbean jazz, and Latin music to delight both locals and visitors with the music of our own talents. On Tuesday, August 27, the event will take place at the parking area of Bario Café in Otrobanda, featuring performances by Junior Tecla and his band with a varied musical repertoire, Gedion Chandler with his jazz quintet, and closing with Randal Corsen with "Music Without Borders."
Both events will start at 7 PM and end at 11 PM, and will be completely free for the people of Curaçao and visitors from abroad. Minister Cijntje and his Ministry of Economic Development, along with the Tourism Office and CINEX, have spared no effort to ensure that the entire community of Curaçao has ample opportunity to participate during the week of jazz celebrations on the island. The event also has the support of the DMO and the Curaçao Police Corps.
At the request of Minister Ruisandro Cijntje, the Curaçao Restaurant Association has made an appeal to all its members to play jazz music and also hire local talents to entertain their clientele, thereby enhancing the North Sea Jazz Curacao festival experience. The people of Curaçao and music lovers are cordially invited to these two pre-festival events in downtown Willemstad.
