WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao is set to launch the world’s first mobile application for pre-verification of travelers' biometric data at the end of June. This innovation results from a collaboration between the Ministry of Justice, Curaçao Airport Holding, and various other stakeholders.
The application, developed by Airside, allows travelers to register their biometric data and verify their passports in advance before arriving in Curaçao. This pre-registration means that travelers will no longer need to undergo a physical passport check upon arrival, significantly reducing the time required for the immigration process.
According to the responsible minister, Shalton Hato, this development marks a significant advancement in the aviation and travel industry. “Our tourism sector is experiencing tremendous growth, and we already process 1.78 million passengers per year at our airport. With this innovative application, we demonstrate our commitment to enhancing services and security for our travelers.”
