WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao International Clinic (CIC) has announced its readiness to play a key role in enhancing eye care services on the island.
This initiative comes in response to the long waiting lists for eye surgeries, an issue that has persisted for years. According to CIC directors Marika Sahoury and Lisette Bor, the clinic has already obtained the necessary permits to begin operations with the approval of Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature Javier Silvania (MFK).
The CIC aims to start as soon as possible, focusing primarily on cataract surgeries, which are relatively simple procedures but can significantly improve patients’ quality of life. While the clinic’s infrastructure is largely in place, it still requires specialized equipment and medical personnel before officially launching its eye care program.
Sahoury and Bor emphasized that the CIC does not view itself as a competitor to existing hospitals like CMC and Advent, but rather as a complementary addition to the island’s healthcare system.
In addition to eye care, the CIC plans to continue offering a range of medical services, including pain management, aesthetics, dermatology, and orthopedics.
