WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Governance, Planning, and Public Service (BPD) has proposed a new plan aimed at offering young graduates a chance to find employment. This initiative is part of the modernization of government policies, as announced by Minister of Justice, Shalten Hato (MFK).

The Council of Ministers has approved the concept, which targets both local and international Curaçaoan "Young Professionals" to apply for positions within the government. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, with the Human Resources and Organization team at BPD drafting the proposal.

The plan focuses on young professionals aged between 20 and 35 who, based on their education and experience, will be appointed to positions at salary scale 11 or higher after completing their studies. The package being offered is designed to encourage young professionals to return to the island.

The support package includes financial aid, assistance in finding affordable rental housing, increased compensation for transportation costs, and the option to lease a car for around 300 guilders per month. Additionally, there will be guidance on integrating into the Curaçaoan labor market. The total value of the package is set at a maximum of 101,000 guilders.

With this initiative, the government aims to leverage the knowledge and experience of young professionals to accelerate the economic development of Curaçao.
