WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao has announced plans to improve both the quality and capacity of Curaçao International Airport and the island’s seaport during the current government term. The initiative will be carried out in cooperation with Curaçao Airport Partners and other government agencies.
These upgrades are part of the broader governing agenda of the Pisas III Cabinet, with special focus on boosting cruise tourism and promoting sustainable air connectivity.
The government also aims to drive sustainable innovation within the tourism sector, simplify bureaucratic procedures, modernize the permitting system, and enhance Curaçao’s overall competitiveness in the global market.
Additional priorities include developing the island’s logistics, financial, and technological infrastructure. The administration is also committed to supporting local production, strengthening food security through modern agricultural techniques, and expanding export opportunities.
Furthermore, the economic policy includes efforts to modernize the island’s economic zone framework and attract foreign investment through the establishment of Special Economic Zones.
