Curaçao Government Meets with Don Andres After Concerns Over Port Services

Local | By Correspondent April 7, 2025

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao government, through the Ministry of Economic Development, has initiated talks with the management of Don Andres after the company expressed dissatisfaction with the port services provided by CPS. Last week, Don Andres announced it would reroute its weekly shipments to the Dominican Republic through Aruba due to ongoing issues at the Curaçao port. The company, which owns two container ships, has long been frustrated by the lack of priority given to its containers at the Curaçao port.

Minister Charles Cooper convened a meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development, which he considered productive. Efforts are underway to find a solution to the problem, as reported by the Extra. Notably, no representative from CPS attended the meeting.
