Curaçao Gaming Authority Confirms Resignation of Supervisory Board, “Operations Continue Uninterrupted”

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA), formerly known as the Gaming Control Board (GCB), has confirmed that its Supervisory Board resigned in mid-September. According to the CGA, the government has already begun the process of appointing new members, and the development will not affect the organization’s daily operations or its supervisory responsibilities.

The CGA emphasized that all licensing and regulatory activities continue without interruption, including the ongoing implementation of the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK), which came into force on December 24, 2024.

Originally established on April 19, 1999, the GCB served as the regulator for Curaçao’s gaming industry before being formally designated as the Curaçao Gaming Authority under the new legislation. The CGA is governed by a Board of Directors and overseen by a Supervisory Board.

In August 2025, the government transferred political and administrative responsibility for the CGA from the Minister of Finance to the Minister of Justice, a change officially announced on October 13, 2025.

In a statement, the CGA reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability within the gaming sector, noting: “The Curaçao Gaming Authority remains dedicated to safeguarding the integrity and reliability of the gaming industry in Curaçao.”
