WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Fire Department has officially welcomed 27 new members to its ranks. During a ceremony on Sunday evening, the recruits were sworn in, marking the completion of their initial training.
At the same event, approximately 50 firefighters and staff members received government decrees for their promotions to higher ranks. Among them, eight firefighters were promoted to commander, while fourteen successfully completed their training to become senior firefighters. Additionally, eight dispatch operators received their official government decrees and are set to begin their duties in April.
The new class of firefighters began their training on January 2nd and have now earned their first certification, officially joining the Curaçao Fire Department. Their addition strengthens the team, ensuring enhanced emergency response and fire safety for the island.
